Venom
Released: 2005
Director: Jim Gillespie
Cast: Agnes Bruckner, Bijou Phillips, Method Man, etc...
Rated: R
This movie was just awful! The special effects were B, as well as the acting. Reading the description of the movie, I thought that it can't be that bad..........well, I was wrong and so was the description. It was so off base as to what the movie was about....I think that they may have been watching something completely different. The only plus side to this movie was one of the death scenes....it was different from anything that I had ever seen.....someone got killed by having a sand blaster put to their face. I give this a half of a star.....

Riding the Bullet
Released: 2004
Director: Mick Garris
Cast: Jonathan Jackson, David Arquette, Barbara Hershey, etc... Rated: R
This movie was adapted from a Stephen King short story of the same name. I remember the story well, and surprisingly, the movie goes along with it quite well. David Arquette as the "ghoul" as quite different, and hope that he never plays a role like this again. I mean, I know that he isn't the best actor, but in this movie he just didn't fit. I give this movie 2 stars....the acting was subpar, and it was nearly as scary as a bad dream about rabid rubber duckies devouring your bath soap.

Alone in the Dark
Released: 2004
Director: Uwe Boll
Cast: Christian Slater, Tara Reid, etc...
Rated: R
I should have known better when I rented this one. I rarely ever like movies with Christian Slater in them....the only one being True Romance. And with him co-starring with Tara Reid.....I must be insane. LOL Anyways, I gave this movie 1 star....and it's lucky to get that. This movie was so horrible that I was getting angry about the time I wasted watching only half of it. I fast forwarded the rest, just in case something looked interesting. Well, it didn't happen! This movie made no sense, bad acting, Slater as a orphan monster hunter that does kung foo moves left me feeling sick to my stomach....I wasted my time...don't waste yours. You'd be better off watching paint dry. LOL

Heartstopper
Released: 2006
Director: Bob Keen
Cast: Robert Englund, Meredith Henderson, etc...
Rated: NR
Wow. I am on a roll lately with awful movies. I like Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger, but that is about it. This is the 2nd movie with him in it, that I have seen in the last cpl of weeks, that was truly awful. I give this movie 1 star. Horrible acting. Ridiculous story. And the script could have been written by a 12 year-old. Even the gore isn't enough to save this travesty.

Dead Silence
Released: 2007
Director: James Wan
Cast: Donnie Wahlberg, Amber Valletta, etc...
Rated: UR
I know that this movie flopped at the movie theaters, but personally, I have always been scared of ventriliquist dummies.....those and marionettes and the mannequins in the dept stores....and even some of those china dolls. They all terrify me. So, with that fear added in, I was entertained through-out the movie. The plot was okay....predictable.........but honestly, it's hard to find a movie that is not predictable at this point. My boyfriend thought it was stupid, and went to bed about half-way thru. For it being dones by the director of Saw, it was a dissappointment....But like 'Saw', this movie delivers the creeps and is definitely one of the more unique and satisfying rentals of the horror genre I've had in a while. Recommended for horror fiends, but not worthy of repeated viewing or inevitable sequels. One last thing.....keep your eyes open in one of the scenes towards the end of the film- the Saw puppet is hidden in the bottom left right of the frame. I give this movie 3 stars.
